NPTC City & Guilds

Qualifications held include a host of NPTC City and Guilds Certificates of Competence for all disciplines used within the tree work industry. These certificates cover everything from chainsaw operations to advanced tree dismantling and the use of mobile elevated work platforms.

 

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health

IOSH is the largest health and safety membership organization in the world, committed to creating workplaces which are safe, healthy and sustainable.

Staff at Howdens Tree Surgery Ltd. hold both IOSH Working Safely & Managing Safely qualifications. 

 

Construction Skills Certification Scheme

All Howdens employees hold CSCS Cards. This ensures they are competent to carry out work on construction sites. 

 

LOLER

LOLER is the Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998, and is aimed at ensuring all lifting operations are properly planned, lifting equipment is used in a safe manner and lifting equipment is thoroughly examined at suitable intervals by a competent person.

Alex Howden is a certified LOLER Inspector of arboricultural equipment.

 

Personal Track Safety - Sentinel 

Howdens Tree Surgery Ltd. staff have undertaken the necessary training and examinations which enable them to work on railway track environments and hold PTS Cards.  

 

Utility Arboriculture

Staff hold the relevant Utility Arboricultural certificates enabling them to safely carry out tree works adjacent to power lines.

 

Arboriculture and Bats: a Guide for Practitioners

Our staff have attended an Arboriculture Association course held in conjunction with the Bat Conservation Trust enabling them to identify bat habitat and the laws in relation to protected species.

 

Emergency First Aid at Work

All employees are certified emergency first aiders.
